MONITORING OF THE MARKET CONDITIONS OF CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES
Abstract
The article is dedicated to monitoring the market conditions of construction companies in Ukraine amidst significant challenges caused by the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. An analysis of the structure of the domestic construction market was conducted, focusing on construction types, market participants, the scale of companies, and regional market characteristics. Changes in the market structure were identified. Regional differences in Ukraine's construction market were determined. The impact of the full-scale invasion on the territory of Ukraine on the construction industry was analyzed. The main challenges were identified, including logistical issues, labor shortages, demand instability, and rising material costs. The legal environment and regulatory mechanisms of the industry were characterized. A market outlook analysis was performed, considering trends toward digitalization, energy efficiency improvements, and the adoption of modern construction technologies. Particular attention was given to analyzing infrastructure and industrial construction as key sectors contributing to the recovery of Ukraine's economy. Threats of competition from international corporations for Ukrainian construction companies were described. The key advantages of international construction companies were identified: possession of substantial financial resources, advanced technologies, and modern equipment; significant experience in implementing large infrastructure projects in various countries, which fosters trust from international donors, investors, and government agencies, enabling them to access key post-war reconstruction projects, including both funding and construction work; experience in collaboration with international financial institutions. The need for domestic companies to adapt to new conditions by implementing innovative technologies, strategic partnerships, and participation in international financing programs was substantiated. The research results can serve as a basis for developing strategies for the development of the construction sector and increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian companies in the post-war period.
