Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of scenarios for the logistics industry to emerge from the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as to the study of the perspectives of the development of logistics sector in the post-epidemic reality. It is shown that Covid-19 has become a determining factor in the global decline in production and trade in 2020. At the same time, after the first lockdown, there was a gradual resumption of production, and several scenarios became possible. Among these scenarios: "rapid remission", "flattened curve", "cyclical outbreaks", "prolonged chaos". The "rapid remission" scenario is a rapid economic recovery as a result of an effective public response to threats, as well as the introduction of tight government control over the spread of the virus. The "cyclical outbreak" scenario involves the virus returning from time to time with renewed vigor, accompanied by partial or complete lockdowns. The "flattened curve" scenario is implemented in the case of an effective social response to quarantine measures and provides for a gradual and calm exit from the crisis. The scenario of "prolonged chaos" can be realized in case of loss of control over the spread of the virus, as well as low social responsibility for following quarantine regulations. The potential threats that accompany each of the scenarios are shown, it can be useful for logistics companies engaged in strategic planning. It is investigated that the market of logistics services for end consumers (B2C) is actively developing: people work online at home, shopping habits are modified, online shopping is actively developing. It was found that during pandemic logistics companies focus on three main factors - security, cost-effectiveness and communication with customers. The main direction to increase efficiency is to work with information - the collection and exchange of data for tracking goods in real time, the use of systems for reading and transmitting information in warehouses, on pallets, during transit in vehicles. A promising area in supply chain management is the introduction of intelligent technologies and the use of "Big Data". The use of drones and parcel machines can be the safest way of delivery that does not require direct contact with people.
