STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF MODERN REALITIES OF INNOVATIVE ACTIVITY OF UKRAINE

Abstract

In the context of total globalization and increased turbulence of the external environment, sustainable growth of the national economy is impossible without activation of innovative activity, which plays a key role in increasing the country's competitiveness. This applies not only to the development of new technologies and products, but also to the ways of organizing and managing different business processes and fields of activity, promoting innovative developments in the domestic and world markets. The article analyzes the rating position of the innovative system of Ukraine relative to the world level on the basis of international indices for 2015-2019. It is determined that the country has to overcome a significant lag in the level of innovative activity of enterprises in comparison with the developed countries of the world. However, Ukraine performs the best in Knowledge and Technology outputs and its weakest performance is in Infrastructure. The ways of improvement and development of innovative activity of the country are indicated. It is substantiated that the basis of Ukrainian innovative competitiveness should be human capital, knowledge and research results, as well as their effective implementation in Ukraine with the possibility of entering the world markets, which will contribute to the development of the country. Also, attention is focused on the fact that the available resources and potential of the country should focus on supporting research and creating an efficient infrastructure that will facilitate the transformation of research results into products suitable for commercialization. It is recommended to remedy the situation of attracting foreign investors to the development of domestic innovative sphere and to use the opportunities of international cooperation; increasing the costs of research and development to a level consistent with international standards; the transition from a low-tech resource to a high-tech innovative economy; the focus of public policy on creating favorable conditions, first of all, for the development of production of intellectual products, including the possibility of their commercialization both in Ukraine and in the rest of the world.
