NATIONAL INNOVATION SYSTEM: THREATS AND CHALLENGES ON THE MACROLEVEL
Abstract
The main theoretical principles of the innovation system have been examined. The strategic purpose of national innovation system functioning has been identified, and the main elements of its development strategy have been explored. The peculiarities of the establishment of the national Ukrainian innovation system have been analyzed. The subsystems of the national innovation system such as generation and dissemination of knowledge and innovation infrastructure have been examined. The main sectors of the national innovation system and the factors of its effective functioning have been identified. The country’s innovation potential on the micro-, meso- and macro level within the national innovation system have been explored. The components of the knowledge economy index have been analyzed and the position of Ukrainian innovation potential in terms of KEI has been assessed. The dynamics of the global competitiveness of Ukraine has been analyzed. The national innovation system of Finland and the main factors of its effectiveness have been examined. It has been suggested to adapt the aspects of Finnish experience discovered in Ukraine.
